Keep going!
My husband and I have two grown children, and one ten-year old. When we tell people, they usually ask if our last one was a 'surprise.' The answer is no. We meant to have him!
We felt that our family was too small. Our older two were becoming independent, and we suddenly realized this grand adventure of raising children would be over before we knew it.
We actually had wanted two more children, but my last pregnancy was a challenge, so we counted our blessings that our last son was healthy and were content to stop.
Now, as he is getting older, I find that I am drawn to pursue other interests. I've taken up studying for a degree, and have added painting to my list of activities.
I need to keep reminding myself that this work of raising our last son is not finished.
Raising children is the most important thing we are doing.
Time invested in children will pay rewards when they are older in producing good lives for themselves and for their future families, too.
Keep going!
